I would like to start this review by thanking Sunny Babe PR @sunnybabepr and Lee Jackson @lee.jackson.reads for my copy of Country Charm in exchange for an honest review.

This debut novel deserves more readers.

Cassidy Walker and Hunter Hill are the perfect city girl and country boy duo to make your heart throb for a happy ending. Aside from wanting to smack Cassidy for not realizing faster what was right in front of her, this book kept me quite happy. I enjoyed reading about the different dynamics between friends and family, city and country life, and ideals of romance.

Hunter’s loyalty and dedication to everything and everyone in his life had me swooning. Cassidy’s love for her friends and books reminded me of—well, me—and helped me connect even more to the story.

Country Charm is a well-thought-out, relatable read in a society where independence, career development, and hook-up culture have taken precedence over settling down and building a family. This is not to say that people still don’t want a domestic life but to emphasize how people have been pushing off settling down for other experiences compared to generations before us.

Tackling a change in desires, wants, and needs while addressing the fear and hesitation to do so is what makes this read so realistic and heartfelt. Jackson does a fantastic job writing those realizations and feelings for moments that may seem unnatural to us yet are entirely normal, just new.

If you like he falls first, small-town romance, country boy x city girl, blind dates, and found family tropes, this read is definitely for you.

Overall, this story was well-written and super fun, but it was just a tad predictable. I was captivated from start to finish and ended this read feeling warm and fuzzy, which is a welcome emotion when my life has been feeling so upside down lately. Because of this and the above reasons, I am rating Country Charm 4 out of 5 stars and a 3 for spice.

I will certainly be reading the next book in the Pebble Creek series, whenever that is.

As always, thanks for reading! 💜
